It's About Damn Time

I have been a slacker lately, and it's not for any lack of desire to post -- I've been swamped with work (Yay!) and sick kids (Boo!) and a crazy schedule. And it's going to get worse before it gets better, at least if you're someone who counts on your bloggers to update regularly. I'm leaving on Sunday for a week in the Caribbean, with no access to the Internet. Or the phone. Sorry.

Anyway, some updates:

1. My unborn baby has a normal karyotype. This is good. We are now just waiting for the Sotos test results.

2. My daughter S. is going through some Serious Issues. This ranges from lying about homework to getting a 20 (twenty) on a math test to telling her music teacher she can't participate in a dance because her arms are sore. We are conferencing about her in about an hour. Clearly she has not received the memo that WG can only handle ONE CHILD WITH ISSUES AT A TIME, THANK YOU.

3. D. is so freaking awesome it makes my heart hurt. A few days ago, he said something in the car about Corduroy. I noted it, but didn't do anything with it, until his teacher mentioned that they read it in class. Whereupon I leapt into action and got a copy from the library. When D. saw it, he lit up. We read it -- not really, but we held it and turned the pages and talked about the major story events. And then, yesterday, in the car on the way to speech/OT, I asked him, "What happened to Corduroy?" And my kid said, "He lost his button. She wants to take him home. We have to fix it." He is so, so, so, so amazing. Love him.

4. Did I mention that I'm going on a cruise in the Caribbean next week? Oh, I did? Oh, OK.

5. I'm leaving on Sunday. For a cruise. In the Caribbean.

:-)

Have fun. All I am thinking is how much I love a buffet and you being pregnant can eat it all!

That story about D warms my heart.
Julia is in a playgroup now with another boy with sotos who is two end of feb. He is walking well which was also so nice to see.

I can certainly relate to the issues with S. We're right there with you. Our Betty hasn't gotten the memo either ...

On a brighter note, enjoy your trip and that is wonderful news about the baby's karotype!

Glad for the good news.

Glad for the conversation on the book.

Totally envious that you get to go on a cruise to someplace *warm*.
