I had to stop reading Teej's post today, when she dissed Twilight, because, well, EDWARD. LOVE HIM.
And, as I pointed out to Teej later when we spoke, I noted the irony of reading her post today, when I took the day off from work to read Breaking Dawn, the final book in the series. I picked it up yesterday from the library, and I haven't done a stitch of work since. I did cook this morning, but then I curled up on the lovely sofa in my office and read. And dreamed of being a vampire.
And Mer, I don't know if we can still be friends, either, because I loved Book 4 just as much as the others. I'm a sucker for a happy ending.
Anyway, I am totally OK with having the taste of a 14-year-old girl. I also read another young adult series about vampires, not nearly as good as Twilight, by P.C. Cast. It was entertaining. And my daughter is currently reading a book about twins born to mixed-marriage (human/vampire) parents, so OF COURSE one twin is a vampire and one is not. No, I will not let my 9-year-old read Twilight anytime soon, but the truth is she wouldn't want to. She's not into kissing. So, yeah, I'm 14. And my daughter is 9.

I love a happy ending too but the whole baby half vampire thing just seemed so stupid to me. I know, I know, it isn't like the other books are steeped in reality but Nessie took it to a whole new level - one I just could not get into.
But yes, don't diss the Edward! Twilight the movie opens on Nov 21, the day after my birthday and I told my husband he needs to take care of our son so on Saturday I can take myself to see it during the day and that is my present. He couldn't get through the trailer without laughing so I knew taking him with me would ruin it!
