Tagged.

Forever ago, I was tagged for this. And then recently, I was tagged again, for a different one, but I felt too guilty to do the second one without having completed the first. And I started this post back in AUGUST, but I never finished it. So today I am. And tomorrow I'll do the other.

1. A book that changed your life.
Um. I read A LOT of books, and I don't know that any has really changed my life. Had a profound impact, sure. But changed? I don't know. Maybe Deenie, by Judy Blume. Since I had scoliosis and wore a backbrace and all.

2. A book you've read more than once.
The Joy Luck Club, by Amy Tan. I love the storytelling. I love Chinese women who write in English. I love that the book was originally intended to be a collection of unrelated short stories, but the publisher thought it was a novel, so Amy and her agent played along.

3. A book you'd want on a desert island.
How to Get Off a Desert Island. Ha, ha. No? OK. Um, maybe...The Collected Works of William Shakespeare. Because I'd finally have time to read it all. Or The Animal, The Vegetable, and John D. Jones, because I once read it on a family vacation to Mexico, and it made me laugh so much my stomach hurt for DAYS. And that kind of laughter is probably rare when you're marooned on a desert island.

4. A book that made you giddy.
The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexandre Dumas. LOVED the book. LOVED the yummy guy in the movie even though they BUTCHERED the story.

5. A book that you wish had been written.
How I Cured Cancer and Became President of the United States on the Same Day, All Thanks to My Mother, May She Live to Be 120, by D. Stop laughing, I'm not kidding.

6. A book that wracked you with sobs.
The Lovely Bones, by Alice Seybold.

7. A book you wish had never been written.
I Know This Much is True, by Wally Lamb. I read it right after Z. was born and it was incredibly disturbing.

8. A book you are currently reading.
Adverbs, by Daniel Handler. And I just finished reading his The Basic Eight, which was amazing.

9. A book you've been meaning to read.
Shopaholic, by Sophie Kinsella. No really. I love chick lit. I download from Audible.com and listen on my iPod while I do grocery shopping and cleaning and stuff.

10. Tag 10.
Um. No. Not 10. But I'll tag Teej. But no pressure. If you don't want to, you don't have to. But you should.
